The essence of security of today’s world involves many dimensions, including the
political, economic, social, military and ecological dimensions. National
security has become a strategic task for the state’s development. It may be
performed by specialist teams composed of people having thorough knowledge of
the important area of the state’s activity.

Characteristics of a graduate of the National Security faculty:
Students will gain interdisciplinary education enabling them to understand the
role of security institutions in the structure and mechanisms of state
functioning and the role of security in the state’s survival and development.
They will be able to assess security threats and risks concerning today’s
civilisation, ecological and social problems, civil and military relations,
international political relations, international military relations,
organisation and use of armed forces, public security and order protection,
basics of combating terrorism, disaster medicine and logistics in emergency
situations as well as emergency management. Students will gain necessary
knowledge and skills due to many decision-making games based on realities of
work of emergency centres supported by case studies.
Examples of areas of employment:
Graduates will be able to work, for example, in central and local structures of
the governmental administration and local governments dealing with security of
citizens and economic entities in emergency teams. Due to the knowledge and
skills acquired, they may continue education in centres established by the state
and its bodies to perform tasks involving the national security.
